ADULT CHIHUAHUA
DESCRIPTION: The Chihuahua is
divided into two breed types, one
with a soft short coat and the other
with a soft long coat. Chihuahuas
are reserved to strangers and
unknown pets, they a loyal and
devoted to their owners. They are
known for its saucy expression
and alert attitude. They make
excellent watch dogs.
SIZE: The Chihuahua range from
six inches to nine inches in height
and weigh from two to six pounds.
COLORS: Can be any color or
mixture of colors
COAT; The short coat is soft to
touch and requires minimal
grooming. The long coat is soft and
can either be straight, wavy or
curly. The long coat needs an
occasional brushing to keep it from
matting.
TEMPERAMENT: It makes an
excellent companion and is highly
devoted to his owner. It gets along
well with other household pets.
HEALTH CONCERNS: It is
susceptible to patella luxation and
eye problems.
LIFE EXPECTANCY: Fifteen or more
years.
LIVING ENVIRONMENT: They are
adequate for apartment living
although they tend to be noisy.
They require little exercise. A
couple of trips outside each day
will provide enough exercise.
